Cycling in Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury, Lock Down 2020

Living in Didsbury, I have just discovered a love for local Cycling and this has steered me to Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury.  I am used to riding the country lanes of Cheshire or the steep hills in the Peak District but of late, due to Covid 19, I have been seeking my cycling pleasure closer to home.

During the lockdown in 2020 daily exercise is more important than ever and for the residents of Didsbury, go to Fletcher Moss.

Fletcher Moss which is known for its gardens, fantastic Cafe and Ice Cream has a whole lot more if you go a little bit further. Beyond the tennis courts and the beautiful garden walk, Fletcher Moss has a plethora of traffic free paths and trails that can be enjoyed on foot and on your bike.

Paths are wide which is ideal when social distancing so taking your family to cycle in Fletcher Moss is not an issue as long as care is taken. The trails take you in to an oasis of calm which is on the edge of inner city Manchester.  Yes, you are met with the hum and drum of the M60 Manchester Ring Road which borders the park but this can be ignored with the pleasant scenery on offer.

Fletcher Moss can be accesses via Wilmslow Road, Stenner Lane which is near the Didsbury Pub or via Ford Lane in Didsbury.  The transition from town to country is instant and within a few pedal strokes you will find yourself in an oasis of calm.

I am not giving anything away but I suggest you try Cycling in Fletcher Moss Park.
